As you have believed, so let it be done for you

All the words of God—the Words of life—are true to the core. Therefore we ought to believe them exactly as they are written. When one has personally acquired a living faith in this, the words of God will be fulfilled exactly. It will be as you believe; it will happen exactly as you believe.

It cannot happen any other way. You cannot acquire what the Word says in any other way.

For example: “Our old man was crucified with Him …”Romans 6:6. “Since you have put off the old man with his deeds …”Colossians 3:9. “But now you must also put off all these [all conscious sin] …” Colossians 3:8. (Galatians 5:19-21; Romans 6:4, 22.)

Jesus’ words apply here as everywhere else: “As you have believed, so let it be done for you.” It cannot take place if you do not believe these words, regardless of how much you wish for it and pray for it. But—if you really believe it, then it happens.

Of course it is very difficult to believe something so unspeakably great. Therefore we need to fight in deadly earnest in order to acquire a living faith in such glorious, true words! (Matthew 11:12.)

Unfortunately, as far as most people are concerned, it is normal for them to doubt something so incredibly great. What they actually believe is that it never will succeed, which is precisely why the negative part is fulfilled. In this way they can never come to the point of believing God and loving Him in truth and keeping His commandments!

Therefore “As you have believed, so let it be done for you” is fulfilled in any case, whether you overcome or whether you sin! How indescribably stupid it is to doubt God’s true words. (Hebrews 11:6.)
